About Easy Cookie

Easy Cookie is a baking site with one job: to get a good tray of cookies, brownies, muffins or cake out of your oven — on the first try.

The recipes here are the everyday sweet things. Nothing that needs a stand mixer you don’t own, a tart ring, or an ingredient you have to order online. If it is on this site, it can be made in a normal kitchen with butter, flour, sugar, eggs and a decent bar of chocolate.

What you’ll find here

Four kinds of baking, and not much else. Cookies that are chewy in the middle and crisp at the edge. Brownies with a fudgy centre and that thin, crackly top. Muffins that rise into tall bakery domes instead of flat discs. And cakes for loaf tins and bundt tins — the kind that are worth eating without any frosting at all.

There is no account to make and no login. Every recipe on the site is free to read, start to finish.

How every recipe is written

Every recipe on Easy Cookie follows the same shape, so once you have baked from one page you know your way around all of them.

  • Key Takeaways first. The three or four things that actually decide whether it works, right at the top, so you can skim before you commit an afternoon to it.
  • No story to scroll past. A short paragraph telling you what the result tastes like, then the ingredients. That’s it.
  • Cups and spoons. Measured the way most home kitchens actually measure, with a note wherever a measurement needs care — flour especially.
  • The reason, not just the step. Why the oven starts hot, why the dough gets chilled, why the drizzle goes on while the cake is still warm. Knowing why is what lets you fix it next time.
  • Troubleshooting, storage and a FAQ on every one. Flat muffins, cakey brownies, cookies that spread into one sheet, a cake that sank in the middle — the fixes are on the page, not buried in the comments.
